Kitchen Sink Granite Crack Repair

Why is my Countertop Cracking?

Steel rods were used in your granite to add strength to your sink area. Water intrusion has compromised these metal rods by causing them to rust, expand and crack your granite. These rods run paralell to the sink and many times cause long granite cracks in front and in back of sinks.

My Repair method

Strategic cuts and breaks are carefully made which allow me to get access to and remove these metal rods which are causing this damage to your countertop. Everything is carefully clamped back together with special colored 2-part urethane epoxies. I then diamond grind, hone and polish the whole repair area back into the rest of your granite countertop! I then use a special UV-cured color system to camouflage the repair as best as possible, as exemplified by the slideshow images above and below.

The Result!

A repaired granite countertop reflecting a VAST improvement over what it just was! A high quality repair by Rock Star will result in an APPEARANCE much closer to the original granite countertop install. Although visual evidence of the repair is almost always evident, my clients are still VERY pleased with the final result (See CAPTIONS ABOVE and REVIEWS BELOW) after seeing the extensive effort and detail put into their project. Furthermore, the STRENGTH of the repair almost always equals that of the rest of the install!

Removing the rusting rod is critical!...otherwise the damage will continue to grow!

As mentioned above, the rusting metal rod needs to be removed for the repair to be complete and secure! A final COLOR MATCHING system creates awesome results!
